Meet the Artists Behind Our Hungarian Harmonies Concert

The stage is set for an enchanting evening of Hungarian Harmonies, where classical melodies will whisk you away to distant lands and stir your soul. This magnificent experience wouldn’t be possible without our exceptional guest artists. Sibbi Bernhardsson, an Icelandic violinist, brings a touch of Nordic charm to our Hungarian Harmonies concert. Sibbi is no stranger to the world stage, having performed with the acclaimed Pacifica Quartet for 17 years. His remarkable journey includes winning a Grammy Award for Best Chamber Music Performance and being recognized as the Musical America Ensemble of the Year. Sibbi’s violin mastery promises to infuse these compositions with profound emotion and a touch of the Northern lights.

Anthony Devroye is a violist of immense versatility. With a career spanning chamber, orchestral, and solo performances, he has graced major venues across the United States, France, and South Korea. As a violist of the Avalon String Quartet since 2004, Anthony has shared his passion for music with audiences worldwide. His performances with leading conductors, including the Chicago Symphony’s Riccardo Muti, are a testament to his exceptional talent. Anthony’s presence in the Hungarian Harmonies concert will undoubtedly add depth and richness to the music.

David Feldman’s musical journey has been nothing short of remarkable. He excels as a cellist, bassist, and teacher. His experiences range from performing as a concerto soloist with orchestras to playing with the Trans Siberian Orchestra. Professor Feldman’s expertise extends to recording studio sessions, and his presence in the music world is genuinely diverse. His role in our concert ensures a captivating and multi-dimensional musical experience.

Dr. Luca Trombetta has performed across Europe and the United States and shared the stage with artists like Yo-Yo Ma and Andrea Bocelli. His extensive background, including a Doctor of Musical Arts in Violin Performance, promises a technically masterful and artistically inspiring performance. Dr. Trombetta’s music is a journey that transcends borders, and we’re thrilled to have him with us.

Dr. Yevgeniy Dovgalyuk is a violinist of world renown, having graced prestigious venues in the United States and Europe. Dr. Dovgalyuk’s expertise has seen him perform with greats like Yo-Yo Ma and Wynton Marsalis. As a recipient of numerous performance awards, he has left his mark on the world of classical music. His role as Concertmaster with the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra, Minister of Music at Court Street UMC, Liya String Quartet Violinist, and president of Liya Christian Ministries echoes his dedication to his craft and calling.

Liya Christian Ministry was founded in 1998 in memory of Liya Dovgalyuk, a young, talented violinist who passed away at the age of 13.
