They say every journey begins with a single step, and for our church admin and worship leader, that step was taken at the tender age of 7. Her faith voyage found its anchor during a Christmas pageant, where salvation touched her heart. As the years flowed, the waters of faith deepened, culminating in a beautiful baptismal experience at the age of 13.
At the pivotal age of 16, she embarked on a purposeful path by joining the United Methodist Church at Trinity UMC in Lansing, Michigan. Her journey then led her through diverse worship settings as she served in the Army, often away from the comfort of a UMC, yet always finding ways to contribute through worship teams and even a Christian Rock Band.
Upon returning from duty in Germany, a new chapter unfolded at Bethel UMC in Alberta, Virginia. Here, her purpose bloomed as she led worship and imparted wisdom to eager young minds in Sunday School. Blessed with talents, her voice resonates as a classically trained singer, her foundation laid at Central Michigan University's vocal performance program.
Her life's symphony extends beyond music; she weaves creativity into her existence, sharing joy through hobbies like knitting, crafting, and conjuring delectable treats for the community. The echoes of her time in the Army reverberate as she harmonizes leadership with music, having served as an assistant conductor and chorus member in The Soldiers’ Chorus across the landscapes of Europe.
Her transition led her from military service to civilian spheres, where her talents shone in successive administrative and financial roles at United Healthcare and The Riverstone Group, which prepared her for service at Court Street.
A beacon of love, joy, compassion, and creativity, she wholeheartedly embodies her calling to serve and uplift others. Her journey, interwoven with faith and melody, continues to inspire and guide our community.
