It is a homecoming of sorts for The Reverend William (Bill) T. Burleigh as he was baptized at Court Street UMC in 1953 by his great uncle the Rev. Hugh Marshall Burleigh. Bill and his wife Shelley reside in the Concord area on the Burleigh family farm where they raise Angus cattle. Their children, Jenny, Stephanie and Travis are all out living on their own. Bill was in his mid 40’s when he heeded the calling to ministry. He attended Duke University and has been a pastor in the Lynchburg district since that time. Answering the call to ministry has been the most fulfilling thing Bill has done in his life.
“I am excited about my new ministry here at Court Street and am anxious to meet everyone. I hope all of you will come to worship with us on Sundays and stop by my office during the week to give me an opportunity to get to know you and to work with you. I look forward to serving God, Court Street UMC, and all of you for many years to come.”
Reverend Bill Burleigh

Meet Jesse:
I am the husband to my wonderful wife, Janice. We are privileged to be the parents of our eight children. They range from eighteen to two years old, four boys and four girls. We consider each of them a blessing and gift from the Lord.
Janice and I have been married for 20 years. She is from Bedford, Virginia and I am from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We met at Liberty University in the late nineties, and then moved to Philadelphia after I received my M.A.R. and M.Div. degrees. I have served in various ministerial positions, yet primarily as a Pastor, and also as a Student Recruiter for Faith Theological Seminary.
Our family has established a classical/folk band that enjoys sharing the wide range of musical talents from each child, and most importantly, presenting the gospel of Jesus Christ simplistically at different venues.
