Get ready for an exciting face-off at Court Street UMC as we gear up for the Souper Bowl Challenge!

This year, our spirited rivalry pits the San Francisco 49ers against the Kansas City Chiefs, and the stakes are higher than ever. But it’s not just about football; it’s about rallying together for a good cause. We’re proud to announce that all proceeds from this friendly competition will go to support Meals on Wheels of Greater Lynchburg.

How It Works:

Starting this Sunday, February 4th, after worship service, you’ll find collection boxes marked for the 49ers and the Chiefs. Court Street UMC loves a good rivalry, and this time, it’s all about predicting the winner of the 2024 Super Bowl. Members of our congregation and the community are invited to place their bets, or rather, their contributions, into the collection box of the team they believe (or hope) will emerge victorious.

Announcement of Court Street’s Pick:

The excitement doesn’t stop with the game; we’ll reveal Court Street UMC’s official pick on February 12th. Will it be the 49ers or the Chiefs? Join us in the suspense and celebration as we announce our allegiance!

Online Contributions:

We understand that not everyone can make it to the collection boxes, so we’ve made it easy for you to participate online. Visit our website, where you can make a contribution and note your chosen team. Every dollar counts, and your support makes a significant impact on the Meals on Wheels program, providing vital assistance to those in need in downtown Lynchburg.

Why Meals on Wheels:

At Court Street UMC, we believe in supporting initiatives that directly impact our community. Meals on Wheels of Greater Lynchburg plays a crucial role in providing meals to those who need it most. By participating in the Souper Bowl Challenge, you’re contributing to a cause that resonates with our mission of spreading love, compassion, and support to our neighbors.

Join the Fun, Make a Difference:

The Souper Bowl Challenge at Court Street UMC is not just about football; it’s about coming together, having fun, and making a positive impact. We invite everyone, from die-hard football fans to those who simply love a good competition, to be part of this exciting initiative. Let’s cheer for our favorite teams and, more importantly, cheer for the Lynchburg community.

As the teams gear up for the big game, we’re gearing up for something even greater: a win for Meals on Wheels and a win for the spirit of community at Court Street UMC! Let the Souper Bowl Challenge begin!
